Experience
As a photographer with more than 25 years experience, I have taken thousands
of portraits. I know what it takes to make a portrait that captures the
eye and holds it. Actress Sharon Stone once posed for my camera, as did
George Harrison of the Beatles. The L.A. Times flew me to Kauai to shoot
photos of NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul Jabbar and his son for a sports
section feature. Grammy Award winner George Kahumoku uses my work
for his CD covers and promotional material.
Photos with Personality
Portraits must say more than just fact that a person had their picture taken. I strive to capture the spirit and essence of the people I photograph. Personality portraits. Whether it is action shots of a family member immersed in an activity they love, an individual posed with studio lights, or a couple walking along the beach at sunset, my goal is to ensure a lasting memory by capturing a moment in life.
Patience
and Calm
From photographing finicky two-year-old triplets, to a family group photo of more than 150 people, I have delivered the goods in the toughest of assignments. As a parent, I have an understanding of how to photograph kids and how to get past melt-downs if they occur. Clients say that they have fun during my photo shoots.
In
the Field or in the Studio
Whether it’s a family photo at the beach or a fashion shoot
under the studio lights, I am willing to travel to the location you chose to have your
photos taken. If you would like suggestions, I’ll listen to what you have
in mind and then provide you with a list of locations to consider. Maui
has many out-of-the-way places that can provide the perfect backdrop for
your portrait.
Images
are yours to keep
While many photographers make their profit by holding on
to their images and selling prints, I prefer to turn the edited images
over to the clients for them to keep and use as they wish. My rates include
a finished CD and color contact prints of the edited images.
